The role of Club President is currently vacant.
During this transition period, the Vice President is acting as caretaker President, supported by the Committee, to ensure the continued smooth running of the Club.
Our focus remains on supporting members, promoting beekeeping education, maintaining our club activities and continuing to build a strong and connected beekeeping community.

I live in The Oaks and have been a member of MBAi since December 2021 after purchasing my first Flow Hive. I grew up in South Africa and have always had a love of nature, animals and the environment. Beekeeping has ignited a new passion and has led to a greater love and appreciation of my garden, including the native pollinators I previously overlooked. It is not too surprising that my backyard apiary has now expanded and will soon be including Native Stingless bees.

Evan has been a member of MBAi since 2019 and started beekeeping in the same year after getting his first flow hive, which has grown to three flow hives in his backard near Holsworthy. Evan has also kept Stingless Native bees since 2018 and has three hives in his backyard.

Hello I joined Macarthur Beekeepers in 2018 bought my very first hive from Ed. Have held a few positions in our club committee . Enjoy the challenges beekeeping brings but not the stings. Started bee keeping because my pumpkins were not getting pollinated and I got tired of having to hand pollinate them and thought there must be an easier way. Which is why I started beekeeping. The rest is history. But now the family have grown and flown the coop I now longer grow fruit and vegetables mainly because the bees keep me very busy.

After arriving a swarm of bees to an empty box, I fell in love with the amazing and wonderful world of bees, I began my beekeeping journey, learning from books, YouTube videos and other commercial beekeepers in Chile. Went from one swarm to 250 beehives.

I have lived in the Camden area for over 11 years and have been a member of the MacArthur Beekeeping Association since 2021.
I love going to the gym, playing racquetball and gardening.
My love for bees has grown over the years and I love managing the club’s apiary.

I became interested in bees when we visited a place called the Honey Pot in Urunga, whilst on holidays in 2020. I immediately fell in love with bees and I was surprised that , until then, I hadn’t realized the importance of bees to the world. We came home and did our research, bought our first Flow Hive and joined the club in 2021.
We now have 2 Flow Hives in our suburban backyard, and I now take care of all things Library in the club. Rick and I have lots of grandchildren and one of my greatest pleasures is teaching them about bees..

"I discovered my love for bees after watching a documentary that completely changed the way I saw the world around me. Suddenly, I noticed bees everywhere— in my garden, at the shops, on walks with my dog, even at work. When COVID paused club meetings and field days, I threw myself into learning as much as I could. Joining the Macarthur Beekeepers connected me with a wonderful mentor who gave me hands‑on experience working across his 30‑plus hives. The work was tough and often back‑breaking, but every visit confirmed that I wanted bees of my own. As a thank‑you for helping him, he gifted me my first two hives—an unforgettable moment. I now care for five thriving hives and continue to learn something new from them every day. As the club’s Marketing Officer, I’m excited to share that passion with our community and members."
