I live in The Oaks and have been a member of MBAi since December 2021 after purchasing my first Flow Hive. I grew up in South Africa and have always had a love of nature, animals and the environment. Beekeeping has ignited a new passion and has led to a greater love and appreciation of my garden, including the native pollinators I previously overlooked. It is not too surprising that my backyard apiary has now expanded and will soon be including Native Stingless bees.

Evan has been a member of MBAi since 2019 and started beekeeping in the same year after getting his first flow hive, which has grown to three flow hives in his backard near Holsworthy. Evan has also kept Stingless Native bees since 2018 and has three hives in his backyard.

Caroline joined the MBAi in 2017, and took on the Librarian role in 2020. Knowledge in beekeeping so far is theoretical, but there are big plans for both European and Australian stingless native bees in the future. Caroline is often seen at club meetings and field days accompanied by a micro-beekeeper-in-training.

Dallys is a passionate gardener and beekeeper. She enjoys identifying and raising plants that have proven popular with bees. She is a regular walker at the MT Annan Botanic Gardens.

Ross and Samantha got into Beekeeping 18 months ago and are enjoying learning and giving away their honey to family and friends! They started with one hive which quickly grew to two hives when they caught a swarm with the help of a fellow club member James.
They love attending the Field Days as it is a great chance to meet other members and share common interest of all things ‘Bees’ with other Beekeepers and get into the Club Apiary.
Ross enjoys the outdoors gardening not only his garden but also his clients, and Samantha enjoys reading and cooking preferably with a glass of red in hand!!
